How do I download an ebook?

I want to read an ebook offline, but am not sure how to do so.

Answer

If you believe you will need to download the book because of lack of access to the internet or low bandwidth, you will first need to download the 3rd party software to read the ebooks. Many of our ebooks that allow downloads require Adobe Digital Editions to access them.

Each book will have a different checkout period that is set by the e-book provider so you will need to be aware of that when you checkout the book.

To download Adobe Digital Editions for your desktop or laptop, visit the Adobe Digital Editions download page.

To download Adobe Digital Editions on a mobile device, search for Adobe Digital Editions in your app store.

Adobe Digital Editions provides troubleshooting and help on their Support page. Any issues with the software will need to be sent to Adobe's support team. Please check their page for information and assistance.

Not all ebooks in the library's collections allow downloading. If you have questions about accessing or downloading electronic books, ask a librarian.
