What services do guests to SSU have access to in the library?

Can guests to the library and community members (not students, staff, or faculty) use the computers, check out books, use the databases, use the WiFi, or other library services?

Answer

When the library is open, guests are welcome to access and use the library building, read or borrow books in the library, and use the library WiFi on library computers or using their own laptop or other device.

Guests can also access materials in Archives and Special Collections including rare books, manuscripts, and Sonoma State University Archives by scheduling an appointment.

Guests are welcome to borrow materials by joining the library's Community Borrowers program.

Guests who want to access electronic content from library computers can request a login pass from the main desk on the second floor. Guests who want WiFi access for use with their personal devices can request that through SSU's IT department.

At this time we are unable to offer off-campus database access, or use of library study rooms to guests. For more information about guest privileges, please see the University Library Guest Policies page
